Brazil is the world's tenth largest economy but according to recent figures from the World Bank, Brazil has the worst income distribution out of 71 countries. While a small minority of the upper and middle classes enjoy the riches and privileges offered by the progress of the economy, modernization and technological innovation, the masses of the poorer classes experience social exclusion, unemployment, minimum salaries, a health service that is precarious, poor education for their children and bad housing with no sanitation.
