"Prayer will do more than
all the money in the Bank of Ireland."
Catherine McAuley
Prayer was Catherine McAuley's first priority; every decision she took was index-linked with prayer. She declared that 'prayer will do more than all the money in the Bank of Ireland'. "Just to have known Catherine was to be drawn closer to God", Sr. Francis Warde one of her early companions remarked.
Today, Sisters walk with people on life's journey like Jesus and the disciples did on the road to Emmaus. Aware that everything can speak of God - nature, music, poetry, art, anything that brings one to peace and union with themselves and the universe - we try together to access that oneness that will bring us to God.

Chaplaincy
Sisters work as chaplains in schools, hospitals, prisons and nursing homes. listening to people's stories , journeying with them as they deal with life's difficulties and challenges, helping them to draw on their own spiritual and religious resources.
Parish Ministry
Some sisters work on parish teams, while many others are involved with choirs, family masses, prayer, confirmation classes, bereavement counselling and rainbows programmes.

In Glendalough, an ancient Irish centre of pilgrimage, sisters work with the parish to enable people to reconnect with the roots of their own deepest spiritual energies, to have an opportunity to be enfolded in the beauty and healing touch of nature in the valley, to experience the presence of God within their own inner being as they experience the presence of God in the peace and tranquillity of the valley.
