Composer Sr. Briege O'Hare is a Poor Clare Sister, who lives a contemplative life in the celtic monastic style in Faughart, near Dundalk, in Ireland.
The songs in this album are inspired by the writings of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. Both Saints had a profound love and reverence for the Holy Eucharist. Shortly before his death, St. Francis wrote a letter to the entire Franciscan Order in which he said,
"Therefore, kissing your feet and with all the love of which I am capable, I implore all of you... to show all possible reverence and honour to the most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ"
(Letter to the Entire Order: 12, 13).
