Mater

Many developments have occurred in Mater. The outstanding ones are – renovation of the antenatal clinic, repairs of toilet and kitchenette facilities throughout the hospital, work on the IT system, a heat and power plant and extensive repairs and painting. Improved laboratory facilities, X- ray, ultrasound and CAT scan facilities as well as a revival of the cardiac services also materialized.

The Nursing School has also opened and the building of consulting room for consultants is in the pipeline. The hospital hopes to acquire the land between it and the river and develop it into a car park. The hard work of the hospital was rewarded with accreditation of ISO 2000, 2 awards from NHIF and a very distinguished business award.
