Praying with Catherine McAuley during the Year of Faith 2012/2013

The Canonisation Committee - making Catherine McAuley known and loved

Praying for the Sick during Lent 2012

The Canonisation Committee invites you to participate in communal prayer for the sick through the intercession of Catherine McAuley, once a week during the seven weeks of Lent.

To be part of this prayer initiative during Lent, all you have to do is gather a few of your friends, Mercy Associates, Circle of Mercy members or neighbours together for 30 minutes a week, give a short input on Catherine and pray for the sick in your family, community or parish. The inputs on Catherine and the meeting format are provided below.

In this short video clip, Sr. Anne Hannon Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Catherine tells us about the Lent 2012 Prayer for the Sick programme

180 Minutes with Catherine McAuley - Triduum for Foundation Day 2011

On 12th December 2011, the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy celebrates 180 years since its foundation. To mark this wonderful occasion, the Canonisation Committee is inviting you to join with them in spending 180 minutes with Catherine McAuley - a minute for every year!

To assist you in spending this time with Catherine, we have prepared three 60-minute sessions with Catherine. You can spend this time alone or with others and you can spread it over a number of days. We suggest that you do this as a Triduum on December 10th, 11th and 12th but you are free to enjoy Catherine's company at any time.

Day 1 - 60 minutes with Catherine the Laywoman

Day 2 - 60 minutes with Catherine the Religious

Day 3 - 60 minutes with Catherine who loved the Poor

Thank you for joining with us and please remember to pray for the sick through the intercession of Catherine McAuley.

The Canonisation Committee

A new committee, the Canonisation Committee, has been set up to assist Sr. Anne Hannon, Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Catherine McAuley, in her work of making Catherine known and loved. The members of the Committee are Catherine McEvoy, Anne Reid and Ailish O'Brien rsm

This committee hopes to keep the enthusiasm for the canonisation of Catherine McAuley alive and to assist in making Catherine more widely known and loved. The Committee met in Mercy International Centre, Baggot Street on October 11th 2010 to discuss how to move forward. Sr. Anne Hannon receives about ten requests a day from people asking for prayer through the intercession of Catherine McAuley.
