Nchete House was established in 2001 as a training centre for women. It provides training programmes, seminars and workshops related to women’s issues. |
Since its inception an average of sixty women per year have followed the Adult Literacy Programme and others have trained in tailoring and craft. |
Presently there are three month’s tailoring courses running. These courses are to enable women to earn a living by the use of this skill, learned in the centre. |
The centre is maintained by renting the spacious hall for functions and also catering for groups who rent the premises. Outreach programmes to parishes are available on request. |

Outreach programmes to parishes are available on request. The centre also provides limited overnight accommodation for people attending seminars. |
Organic gardening is also on the programme and women are given allotments during the rainy season to grow their own vegetables. |
Outside catering is another service provided by the centre on demand. To encourage the use of locally grown produce, a food fair is held annually and all women’s clubs are encouraged to participate.
